Alexander Wang’s continued fight against the production of fake branded merchandise has finally paid off. The American made designer has been awarded $90 million USD in damages by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in his case against counterfeiters and cybersquatters making it a first for the label. Reported from WWD, there were a total of 459 different domain names of websites selling fake Alexander Wang handbags, footwear, apparel, and accessories. All have been frozen and transferred to Alexander Wang Inc. Unfortunately Wang may never actually receive the money since domains like those selling counterfeit merchandise are almost impossible to trace.
