There’s no doubt that the seventies are making its way back into the menswear radar for Fall and Winter 2016. Baartmans and Siegel gives us a little flair from the New York City 1970s-era. Think Studio 54 meets Harlem, in their latest collection. It’s a merger between streetwear and well-tailored menswear.

The balancing act of layering a thick fur accent trend, is the key to this collection. Spotting some well-use of burnt orange, tan, gray and black color palettes, are another head turner from this collection.
Baartmans and Siegel AW16 does have a modern touch, with the pairing of the Classic, Converse Chuck Taylors. Whether its their take on the track suit, carefully layered with a thick trim jacket for a weekend outing, or the high-waisted, cockerel fighting, bomber jacket embroidered, perfect for casual Fridays at the office.
A hint of androgyny is presented in this collection, as well, with the fur coat and two piece suit on a female model, giving off a masculine tone. Yet with its feminine attributes, is somewhat reminiscent of David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust.
