JOGGERS: JOGGING INTO A MODERN AGE

We see it all the time, trends tend to reappear and make a bigger splash each time around. Take the jogger pant; a comfortable pair of pants typically made of cotton with an elastic band around the waist and ankles. What once was considered a fashion faux pas is now becoming one of the fastest growing trends in years. They first emerged in the late 80’s early 90’s, and at the time were considered the modern track suit originally created as an athletic pant for comfort and ease. A plain pair of stretch sweats with zero design, and later known simply as “lazy pants”.

No one considered them to be very fashionable. It didn’t take very long for them to come and go. Fast forward to today where designers like Marc Jacobs and Dolce and Gabbana are taking this past trend and reinventing it creating a more modern piece for every man’s closet. Designers are pushing the trend limits and creating styles out of chinos and denim. It’s the perfect piece whether you’re more street wear inspired or classic, paired with oxfords and or a tailored shirt. The limits are endless.
