We’re starting a ‘Local Spotlight” feature that’ll showcase some of the most talented artists that you may or may not know about, from all over the world. We’re starting this series off in our hometown Los Angeles, and are excited to share with you some of our favorites.

Cooper Phillip

Cooper is an outstanding vocalist based in Los Angeles, California. Her latest single, “Silence,” has been a fan favorite each time she’s played it at Spaghettini’s in Beverly Hills. The video was shot by Scott Nathan, and shows of the mysterious yet sexy vocals of Cooper’s. Currently she is working in the studio with Eric Benét, and will be playing a free show at Spaghettini’s on July 17th.

Dylan Dunlap

You may know Dylan from his audition on NBC’s hit show, The Voice, where he performed his own rendition of Jason DeRulo’s “Talk Dirty.” Unfortunately Dylan did not make it past the live auditions, but that didn’t stop him from continuing his musical passion. He’s continued playing live shows and open mics around Los Angeles, gaining more fans. His YouTube channel is full of covers where you’re able to track his growth as an artist from his early videos to present.

This duo from USC is made up of Brandon Canada (vocals) and Derek Gamlam (production). They duo met while at school, started to make music together and haven’t stopped. With both studying music, the compositions stand out as excellent songs as both Brandon and Derek appreciate music theory. Brandon’s vocals are playful yet witty, matched well with Derek’s bright synth filled productions.

Jason Hahs is currently in Los Angeles for the summer, but is attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. We discovered him on Soundcloud one night just hunting for new music. Our first listen was of “Canonball,” which instantly reminded us of a Cashmere Cat production. Since then he’s released “Sparkling or Tap,” which showcases his production skills quite nicely.
