June is here, and the amount of great music released is still shocking. Listen here to some of the best tracks we’ve found so far.
Zella Day – High (Kill Them With Color Remix)
With remixes of Bon Iver’s “Wolves” and Marian Hill’s “Got It,” Zella Day is back with their newest remix. The new track was mysterious enough in the original, and the KTWC remix adds their unique flavor to Zella’s ethereal vocals.
Major Lazer – Be Together (ft. Wild Belle)
Diplo has been busy so far in 2015. First teaming up with Skrillex for their joint album, and now another album under his alternate identity, Major Lazer. Recently he announced that the ‘chapter’ of Diplo has been closed for the time being, so he can focus on Major Lazer’s music, and after hearing the new album, we don’t mind.
Halsey – Hold Me Down
Halsey’s newest track “Hold Me Down,” had us swooning over her vocals within the first minute on our first listen. Her album “BADLANDS” is now available for preorder on iTunes, and is expected to release on August 28th.
Frances – Grow
We just heard the young artist for the first time about a week ago on Soundcloud, and can’t stop listening. With only three songs to her account, the UK singer is preparing for her debut album, slated for an October 7th release.
Bleachers – Like a River Runs (ft. Sia)
Jack Antonoff, former guitarist for Fun., has his new band Bleachers ready to join everyone’s music libraries. This isn’t their first worthy song, as they’ve had many, but the first that’ll likely get heard by the most people. Featuring Sia on the vocals, this track is set to soundtrack some of your summers.
Leon Bridges – Smooth Sailin’
Leon Bridges is on a mission to recreate a market for jazz and swing music in 2015. His newest single “Smooth Sailin,” features a traditional jazz combo that pairs perfectly with his warm crooner-style. The female vocals add an element of ‘call and response’ which is rare to hear in music in 2015. His full album is due to release June 23, so stay tuned.
HOLYCHILD – Tell Me How It Is
Signed to Glassnote Records, HOLYCHILD just released their debut album The Shape of Brat Pop to Come, and this track is our favorite from the album. The album reminded us a lot of late 90s early 2000s female pop acts, but with a 2015 twist to the music.
