Unlike his billionaire playboy persona Tony Stark, this actor and philanthropist, Robert Downey Jr, focuses much of his energy on his charity work, under the radar. With the spotlight of the media that is placed on celebrities these days, if used properly can make a huge difference in the world and Mr. Downey is doing just that. The real life Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr, has helped raise over $2 million for the Julia’s House Fundraiser. By giving rewards like passes to the premier of his new movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, and ‘an evening with Robert Downey’, he’s been able to create a lot of buzz for the fundraiser.

This isn’t the only time this philanthropist has been caught doing some charitable work. Last month he worked with Limbitless Solutions to provide a little boy with his own prosthetic arm in classic Tony Stark form. And now with the help of his fellow Avengers cast mates, he will be presented with the Generation Award at this Sundays MTV Movie Awards. The award is given to artists that have shown variety in their spoken profession with impressive roles and a great deal of talent to boot.

Past recipients include Johnny Depp and Reese Witherspoon. With Tony Stark, we know we can continue to expect a big heart from this bigger than life super hero.
