During primitive times, thorns were used as pins to fasten clothing together. As technology improved, so did our ability to create an easy version of what we now know as the safety pin. As the 80’s drew closer, so did our need for self-expression. Allowing the use of pins and buttons to become a much needed accessory. Pins can help enforce your mood our thoughts, be it political or just expressing your funny bone. Some companies have even began to release limited amounts of their pins, turning them into very sought after and collectible items.
Both high fashion and street wear lovers have come to embrace this newest trend, even having somewhat of a cult following. Companies like Nike and Perry Ellis have already had huge collaborations with some of the top pin designers, and much more are on the way. By the looks of things, this is one trend that won’t be going away any time soon.
