PUSHING BOUNDARIES: ONE COAT AT A TIME

It’s the season where our days get shorter and nights grow longer, which can mean only one thing, “coat season”. Every time fall and winter comes around we see new coat trends circulate the fashion scene. The outerwear that grazes the runways has adopted the classic silhouette of the coat with a twist. Some of the trends for coats include; different fabrication, military embellishments, rich deep tones and patterns such as houndstooth. Coats this season are pushing boundaries by extending the silhouette, making coats longer and full. The shape has even changed, since we now see more of less structured shoulders and oversized coats, adding volume and length. It seems as if the coat we know today is transforming and growing into something brilliant.

Coat story

Valentino | Peacoat in Wool Broadcloth
Berluti | Baby Lllama and Wool-Blend Overcoat
Saint Laurent | Houdstooth Brushed-Wool Overcoat
Burberry Porsum | Wool and Cashmere-Blend Overcoat
Calvin Klein Collection | Double-Faced Cashmere Overcoat

We chose these five coats for The Ferrvor Man because they are classic, fashion forwards and the ultimate statement piece for the fall. They are all perfect for layering over sweaters and shirts in order to achieve different proportions going along with another fall men’s trend. Layering is what fall and winter are all about.
