Weekend #1 of Coachella had some interesting headlines, but one of the largest was the re-emergence of NYC electro-rock band, RATATAT. They had the opportunity of closing out the Sahara Tent at Coachella, in which they released their new song “Cream on Chrome,” in anticipation of their set. Releasing the new single generated enough buzz where album rumors started to pop up here and there. With their last album , LP4, being released in 2010, fans are eager to hear some new music.
The duo of Mike Stroud and Evan Mast, excel at breaking down genre barriers. With productions of dreamy, melodic, guitar riffs, Mike and Evan continue to impress us with each album. As well as creating their own music, they’ve worked alongside fellow music artist, Kid Cudi, on his debut album Man On The Moon: The End Of The Day.
Ratatat’s newest album, LP5, will be arriving this summer on XL Recordings. Stay tuned as more singles should slowly find their way to the web, and when they do, we’ll be ready to share them!
