Sam Smith surprised all with the announcement Wednesday that he would be working with Balenciaga modeling their Fall-Winter 2015 advertising campaign. Here’s some photos from his dapper campaign below.
The European fashion house Balenciaga, originally founded by Christobal Balenciaga in the early 1900s and now owned by French company Kering with Alexander Wang at the helm as creative director has embarked upon this relationship to feature the British singer.
The house, known for it’s trademark skirts and odd, feminine, ultra modern shapes had the campaign shot in London by photographer Josh Olins, (who also shot a video featuring Smith) and styled by Robbie Spencer.
Obviously quite smitten with the brand, says Smith: “I am absolutely honored to have been chosen to be the face of Balenciaga. I have been a devoted fan of the brand for a while now.
I love how intimate it feels, and how involved Alexander has been and is with the brand. I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d be wearing these clothes, let alone modeling them. So this is a dream come true, and I hope the beginning of a lovely long relationship with Alexander and the House.”
We’re looking forward to seeing what comes next.
