Electronic artist and DJ Steve Aoki recently joined forces with artist on the rise, Moxie Raia, to form a new duo “Moxoki.” They gave us a gift with their new single “I Love It When You Cry.”Fresh off his latest album Neon Future, Steve Aoki hasn’t stopped working on new music. Planning to make the album a two part release, Aoki has been finishing the touches on Neon Future II in hopes to debut his new songs when he headlines at Ultra Music Festival this March.
For his latest release, “I Love It When You Cry,” he collaborated with Moxie Raia. The song opens up with a bright sitar and the mood is forever set, no turning back. Each time we listen to it we can picture it live at a festival alongside a perfect light show.
Moxie Raia is an upcoming artist and her catalog is still small. She has a couple covers posted to her social media accounts, including covers of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” and Disclosure’s “Latch.” But along with the covers we discovered one original track, “Buffalo Bill,” that was worth a listen.
“The song is really about the perfect high, whatever that is for you. For us, it was written about creativity and that feeling. It could be drugs. It could be sex. It could be love. It could be a person. It’s the perfect high.”
We’re excited for what’s to come for the new duo of Steve Aoki and Moxie Raia, and are curious which DJ will be the next to work with the up and coming artist.
