Sometimes, to offer a different take on style, one needs to strip down and take a look inside of what truly at the foundation. Versace did just that and delivered their Fall/Winter 2015 menswear collection solely on the brands suiting and tailoring. No extras. This was all about the clothes.
Donatella Versace stated that “This collection is Versace stripped or Versace soul. Stripped because I took all the decorations off. You are going to find the pure Versace soul that stands on its own for its shapes, cuts silhouettes, sharpness and sensuality.”
The color palette is a school of blended natural tones with one-button, clean constructed tailored suits, accompanied by tone on tone dressing. It’s a marriage of simplicity, but keeps Versace’s integrity especially when accompanied with a matching shirt and tie.
Besides cashmere knitwear, the play on proportion and silhouettes with leggings and overall coats, never abandons the roots of Versace which also has a touch of sensuality. With that said, the Versace Fall/Winter 2015 Collection offers quilted leather parkas with fur lining and black silk-quilted tailored jackets. Metal details also accentuate the current theme.
The roots of menswear is headed back to the traditions of form and function and Versace has done just that in their Fall/Winter 2015 Collection. Whichever version of Versace you are accustomed to, we can’t wait what Donatella Versace has in store for the future.
